Where it happened:
On the cliffs outside of the Montage hotel in Laguna Beach, California.
What he did:
Marc planned for weeks and came up with a scavenger hunt. Tonia had no idea whatsoever… she was spending the day with her sister, Sonja, driving down the coast. It was even Tonia’s idea to visit the area and the hotel, clueless to what was to come. After exploring the hotel, they went towards the ocean cliff. Surprisingly, there was the start of a scavenger hunt with a sign that said, “If your name starts with a “T”, take a clue and move on to the next sign.”
How fun and what a coincidence! Tonia even took a picture to show Marc later to laugh at. The next sign proved that this was no random event, but a very big surprise. Tonia was happy and giddy… Marc could hear her giggles down the path. Marc was standing six signs down, holding the seventh and waiting for Tonia to come around the bend. Sonja and her boyfriend Dustin, hidden on the path, stayed back to watch the proposal unfold.
The first set of signs were terms of endearment that had special meaning for the couple. Marc’s last three signs said: “Tonia” “Will”, “You”, and then he said “Marry Me”. She said “Of course I’ll marry you!”
